Book 21: Becoming Jane Eyre

Jul 16, 2010 21:10

I needed a serious vacation from The Return of the King, so I chose Becoming Jane Eyre by Sheila Kohler. This is one of the best, and easiest, books that I have ever read. It was so simple, but so intriguing with the way Kohler combines the novel Jane Eyre with that of the author, Charlotte Bronte's, life. It was a beautiful and charming read. This book really appealed to me because it brought fiction to history instead of history to fiction. Of course, all of Kohler's thoughts are speculative (besides the facts and dates), but this book seemed so real. There is not much to say unless you want me to spoil Jane Eyre and Charlotte Bronte's life for you, so get reading!
