Book 2: Angels and Demons
I actually finished this book on Wednesday night, but I had my wisdom teeth removed Thursday, and I'm still not feeling completely up to par. However, Angels and Demons, I can assure you, was one of the best books that I have ever read in my life. It's definitely in my top echelon of books and I'm glad I read it, taking the suggestion from multiple people. It showed me that there are better books out there than just Harry Potter, although HP will always be close to my heart.
Summary: Robert Langdon, an American scholar is called to Switzerland and then Rome to help get to the bottom of an Illuminati attack. The Illuminati is a sacrilegious cult founded by Galileo in the 1600s. The brotherhood was said to have become extinct, but they resurface in Rome during the prestigious conclave, when the Vatican elects a new Pope. This opens up a whole new adventure for Langdon and his female sidekick, Vittoria Vetra as they follow the famous Path of Illumination and try to save the four preferiti from dying before one of them will have the chance to become Pope. The plot is filled with huge twists that you can never really see coming, although by chapter 100, you know there are going to be more. This is an epic story of adventure, drama, and even a little bit of comical romance. It's a must read, even my mother loved it.
