False Memory by Dean Koontz..Idk? HELP!?

I am only on page 40ish and I already want to rip out my eyeballs. Does this crap get good or does the crappy writing just ruin it? I tried reading Demon Seed a few years ago and UGH! WORSE.WRITING.EVER. So opinions on this book if you've read it and Dean Koontz in general? I feel like he is a Stephen King wannabe ( Read more... )

I remember reading The Door to December, which I thought was a good read. That's the only Dean Koontz novel I could ever get into, though.

Doesn't seem that bad to me. I haven't read Dean Koontz in years, but I remember really liking one he'd written called Lightning.

edit: I'm tempted to add that his older works are better, but... this is Koontz. Better than what is really open to question.

I read a bunch of Koontz books on my dad's suggestion - we tend to have similar taste in books - and I loathed every single one. I kept going just in case I was reading the wrong books, picking all the lemons, but no. I just could not get over the poor writing and the giant plot holes.
