My Book List for 2010

Dec 27, 2010 16:51

Only including things I read for the first time, no rereads. My main goal was to read everything I'd bought, except it's impossible for me to stop buying books!

ETA: Bolded the ones I thought were fails, sorry I forgot to do this earlier.

*sigh* Sorry for my earlier comment; I'm reading backwards on my f-list and didn't see today's theme until AFTER I'd written it.

A lot of these I haven't read, but some I have. LOVE LOVE LOVE The Last Empress, though the sequel was a disappointment. Loved Coraline and Ironside. Valient was okay, as were early Anita Blake. Later Anita blake (post Blue Moon), not so much.

Too bad about later Jean M. Auel, I've heard they're pretty bad.

You didn't enjoy the Mammoth Hunters? It pales in comparison to what Clan of the Cave Bear was but it was definitely a lot better after having to trudge through The Valley of the Horses but I guess what made like the Mammoth Hunters even a little bit was it kind of brought back the exploration of cultures through Ayla's non-familarity with being with people of her own species.

Although, the relationship stuff really got on my nerves since they were acting like a bunch of stupid teeneagers in high school. God, that love triangle pissed me off...so nevermind, I can see why you wouldn't like it.

I'd just had enough of Ayla (and Jondalar and Jondalar's tragically large penis) by that point.

Oh that comment made me laugh hard because it is completely true. It's half the reason why I am not probably going to continue the series past the Mammoth Hunters.

I totally laughed when I saw which Anite Blake books you bolded because it's true. :)) Can I ask why Lunatic Cafe is bolded, though? It's been a while sine I've read any of those books so I don't remember what happened.

I bolded Lunatic Cafe because I couldn't remember a single thing about the book's plot, I think being completely forgettable constitutes a fail. I had to look it up before I remembered it was the one with Raina's snuff movies.
