The faithful dead by Alys Clare

Oct 13, 2010 18:15

Time: 1192

Place: South-East England (fictional Hawkenlye Vale)

Summary: An old, sick man dies in Hawkenlye Vale and his servant disappears. Prince John (Yes, that Prince John) and his seer visit Josse d'Acquin, urgently seeking news of a mysterious stranger.
A naked and partially decomposed body is discovered near the Abbey, rightly upsetting abbess Helewise.
Then Yves d'Acquin, Josse's younger brother, arrives suddenly with the news that an old man was on their estate back in the summer, asking for their late father first and then where he could find Josse, his rightful heir.

Could this be the very man Prince John is looking for? Why is he so important? And what does he have to do with Josse?
Comment: The main problem is that this seems more like a case of "the book fails for me", not general failure - I'm sure many people will disagree with me.
Since I wasn't sure, I posted the comment back to my LJ: Link - contains spoilers!
