Saturnalia Ball

The Classics society had a nice ball this evening. I enjoyed it, though my gown was too long, and I had to walk home afterwards. Still, it was....well interesting I suppose. I think its the first formal/grown up party I've ever been to, and I quite enjoyed it, though as a general rule parties aren't really my thing. I also was reaffirmed in my belief that champagne is a vile substance, and is essentially alcoholic tonic water. Ech. Still, a champagne reception is a good idea, though I do wish they'd had canapes of some sort. And I was seated with almost the entirety of the people I knew, so that was alright. By a strange coincidence I was also seated right next to Laura from the anime society. I did sort of wish that Brad had gone with me, but I didn't really realize that until half-way through the ball. I certainly realized it after the three slightly inebriated young men backed me into a corner and tricked me into being enthusiastic by asking about Egyptology (its like my kryptonite!) then proceeded to try and convince me that we should all start worshipping the Greek and/or Roman gods. *sigh*
