All booklogging, all the time! No spoilers on anything, but cut for length.

After the surreality that was The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, I dove way, way back into my comfort zone with a reread of Jane Austen's Persuasion. ( I blame you guys. )

I blame all you guys who keep talking about the film, which I also have a total craving to rewatc.

Ooh! Which film? I've watched the BBC one and it is pretty great.

I think so! It is the one with Ciaran Hinds? I saw it in a class several years back, and I think I liked it but I don't remember it much. A few months ago my flist exploded with Tidings Of This Film And Its Awesomeness and I felt shamed for not remembering!

He's the very tan one with a sort of rectangular face, right? Yes! I thought the film got down the grinding awfulness of Anne Elliott's home in a way I hadn't even got from the book. (The P&P series is sort of more loveable, though.)
