Last week, Cha Song Joo rocked the polls with a fantastically gorgeous (and coordinated!) outfit:

That makes this her second in a row; just one more and she will be challenging Se Gi's record of three straight wins. And she is bringing some strong wardrobe contenders this week, but she is not the only one.

1.

THREE STRONG CONTENDERS. SIDE BY SIDE. I seriously did not even know which to put up for the polls - the awesome kimono? The fluorescent pink? Or the eye-burning turquoise-and-yellow combination?

In the end I had to go for the pink, due to a.) the matching pink gloves and b.) the giant flower growing out of her shirt. And also, this is Miyuki's first shot at the polls! She's a new character for the second half of the drama, and it's only fair to give her her due.

2.

Besides, Woo Wan's mom has another shot for the win with this ridiculously cute white party dress. Mrs. Sun! How are you so adorable?

Seriously, this outfit is like Anne of Green Gables levels of cute. I don't care if Woo Wan doesn't appreciate your efforts, Mrs. Sun, I would stay for your tea party!

3.

In contrast, this is what Woo Wan wears for the party, before running out on revolutionary business.

Red shirt and shiny purple hatband? And what is with that terrible collar? No wonder your stepmother despairs of you!

4.

Fortunately we also have Cha Song Joo's interesting iteration on the theme of red and purple to distract us.

. . . and also distract Lee Su Hyeon, although, uh, he did just kind of wantonly destroy it. Cha Song Joo will not thank you for damaging her wardrobe, Lee Su Hyeon, even if it is out of concern for her wounds.

5.

Or maybe he just liked this outfit better. Which I think is understandable.

Confession: every time I look at this screencap, I have to pause and remember how to breathe. HOW ARE YOU SO GORGEOUS, CHA SONG JOO. HOW?

(The best part is that there is no real reason for Cha Song Joo to be blindfolded at this point in the story. I can think of only two reasons: a.) the cinematographers really, really wanted to work that Blind Justice visual analogy - which seems likely, given the costuming! - and/or b.) a certain double agent is playing kink_bingo . . .?)

Honorable Mention: 6.

It's not that this outfit can compete with any of the others, because it can't; it's just that Lee Su Hyeon has dressed so perfectly for his night of angsty drinking after accidentally shooting his love interest in the arm that I feel it needs to be documented. Black-on-black, with just a hint of visual interest around the tie in case hallucinatory elephants show up to color-coordinate with! It is perfection. All claimants to the throne of manpain should take lessons.
