I have only read an infinitesimal number of Yuletide fics so far, all in the As - aside from my own brilliant gifts which I can never ever glee about enough (Which World and Brush Contact, guys! I will fangirl until the COWS COME HOME). I regret this especially because there were a few of your fics I wonder if I would have been able to guess if I ( Read more... )

So, one year later, I am a) trying to be less of a lurker/generally nonexistent fan and b) cracking up at the fact that you know TL. Ohhh, the universe, it is tiny.

I had no idea that you picked me up as a pinch-hit! Although, now it kind of makes more sense why I ended up with three fics last year.... Anyway, amused and impressed am I; thank you again!

What on earth was your thesis? I'm so curious now.

HEE. Tiny universe indeed - I had no idea you knew TL!

And you are very welcome again - I was super pleased to get a chance to grab your pinch-hit, it was huge amounts of fun for me to write.

I wrote my thesis on cross-dressing girls and coming of age in YA! This was basically an excuse for me to babble about books I loved as a kid at great length. LEAST ACADEMIC THESIS EVER.

...Did this post cause you to visit me and then comment on my fic? or was that a bizarrouniverse coincidence again?

I didn't know TL at the time! I do now. And Lexie, because the fandom that I wrote in this year that you just commented on came into my life via her, basically.

Oooooooooooooooooooh, that's cool. Nice icon. MULAN!! La la laaa, ooh, maybe I will go shower to Disney musiccc.

Believe it or not, it was actually a bizarrouniverse coincidence! I've just started a reverse-alphabetical proper trawl through the archive, and the Ys were up today. I totally laughed when I realized I'd coincidentally gotten to yours on the same day you commented, though . . .

TL and Lexie are both extremely awesome people, so I am glad. :D Hah, yeah, I wouldn't know enough to have read it if it weren't for Lexie evangelizing either. She's very convincing!

The biggest problem with writing my thesis on the Alanna books is that people kept stealing my primary sources. I was like, yes, I am glad you are having fun reading them, but I SORT OF NEED THEM. (There is no better music to shower to than Disney, obviously.)

Hee!

The idea of Alanna-as-primary-source makes me giggle. That's awesome, though. I am jealous. I do not get to write about anything interesting. -mutter-

(I ended up not showering until just now, and it was to a youtube fanvid set to Hey, Soul Sister. OH, WELL. -dances around-)

Haha, I spent a significant amount of my college career trying to figure out ways to write about fantasy novels and ridiculous movies for class. You can talk professors into a lot of things if you sound enthusiastic enough . . . >.>

(*giggling* That also works! I tend to just go with "I'll Make a Man Out of You" as default shower song. IT'S PEPPY.)

(HAHAHAHAHA, I USED TO DO THAT ALL THE TIME. IT'S SUPERB. Peppy shower music is the best. It makes you more efficient! Also, chipper. :D)

Showered to it tonight. Now I think I will always think of this conversation when I do. x_x

Wasn't going to share this originally, because really? worst story ever. But since it's not like I have anything useful to do right now... -flops about-

Maybe I should friend you and use your posts to encourage myself to...read more. x_x I do not understand how you have time to read as much as it seems like you do.

Well, I figure I can do worse as far as mental association goes than AWESOMELY MANLY DISNEY SONGS . . .

I would encourage this, I am always excited to have more people around here to babble about books and/or dorky Disney songs with! :D (Hah, the only secret is commuting. I get all my reading done on the subway.)
