Updates and things

1) I am still not very stable, though I did manage to make a huge scary phone call yesterday without a meltdown, and I also made it halfway through class without becoming hysterical (I left at the break; I was clenching my hands so hard trying to calm myself that I was afraid I would draw blood otherwise). This despite a classmate telling me that she didn't think I was 'really' mentally ill (though in her defense, she said that after I mentioned offhand that I was super anxious and mental illness sucked, and she quit immediately as soon as I gave her a flat look and was all "well, no, I have an official psychological diagnosis, so... yes, yes I am"). Also have been frantically checking email all day for no particular reason. Blah. Could be worse, could be better. Here's hoping tomorrow is lacking in stress or I will call out on Friday.

2) For the Original Big Bang poll, Cassandra's story looks like the winner, unless anyone has any particularly compelling arguments why I should write something else. I may have to leave out the half of the story with the war, but that won't be a problem; it's a complete story without it. Tonight: outlining for all three of my Big Bangs. Wish me luck.

3) My bottle of DS Temptation broke. DDDDD: Must get another, somewhere, somehow, because (as Isana put it) DAT VIOLET.

4) In more cheerful polish-related news, I got my next shipment from NerdLacquer! This time it's the Star Trek themed set, containing Purely Logical, Warrior Ethos, and Cold and Calculating, which... GUH. Do want. Such lovely colors.

5) In the Creases just turned up on iTunes. I love this song so much, I can't even. I keep you in the creases, I hide you in the folds...

6) I've been reading Bill Bryson lately (specifically Neither Here Nor There and Notes from A Small Island), and he seems... um, judgmental? Idk, he just seems to be very sharp about some people (overweight people in particular) that makes me sideeye him a bit. I am enjoying the books, though, and his book on Shakespeare was one of the finer studies of the topic that I've been privileged to read. Anyone have thoughts?

That's it, I think. What's been happening with y'all?

sparkly nail polish hurray, kat loves music, real life, meh
