Carrie Fisher is the mom the internet needs.
Which is to say that I just read her memoir, Wishful Drinking, in like an hour and a half? I was lying on the couch with my head in my girlfriend's lap and I just tore through it. It is hysterically funny, particularly on the subject of being mentally ill and addiction. It's very short, less than two hundred pages, and it seems to be more or less a transcript of her one-woman show of the same name, but it's still very worth the read. I mean, there were a couple of jokes I didn't get, it's very short, and it doesn't cover much of her life events, but it's funny, it's smart, it's occasionally quite profound, and I really did love it.
Dear Carrie Fisher: please be my second third fourth mom. Thank you.
