State of the Me

1) I'm a bit behind on NaNo but not enough to be concerning. Severely annoyed with some of my characters, but quite pleased with another (who is apparently French and Jewish, news to me but okay we'll roll with it).

2) I've been watching random documentaries while beading or doing NaNo, and I can wholeheartedly recommend the Poisoner's Handbook one now available on Netflix (and apparently at that link). It's more concise than the book (also wholeheartedly recommended) but does a nice overview and also throws in some pretty good acting too.

2a) On a related note, why is every other goddamn documentary about the goddamn Nazis? I want something DIFFERENT (and preferably serial-killer-oriented) thank you very much.

3) Found the Stormin' Normans! So I'm back on track in my quest to read all of the Horrible Histories I own in one long binge. I'm on the Measly Middle Ages now, which comes out to about one a day since I relocated the Stormin' Normans. I do love the Horrible Histories, guys. The history isn't 100% accurate (can't tell if Deary's just wrong or if new evidence has turned up since he wrote the books) but they're funny and very much interested me in history as a child.

4) We got the house we wanted! Should be getting the lease sometime early this week and then moving in sometime on the weekend. THANK GOD we will soon be out of this tiny tiny apartment with its solitary bathroom. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to having more bathrooms. And a fireplace! It's on the expensive side of our budget, but that's okay because...

5) ...another Librarian I job opening reared its head and I've applied. Wish me luck.
