things I am grateful for
1) The West Wing, which I have spent the entire day watching while lying on the couch, petting my cat. Because if you can't do that when you're sick, when can you.
1a) Allison Janney. Especially in glasses.
1b) "Well over three and half centuries ago, strengthened by faith and bound by a common desire for liberty, a small band of pilgrims sought out a place in the New World where they could worship according to their own beliefs - and solve crimes."
2) My kitty, who is full of purr and comfort. He is occasionally toothy and pointy, it is true, but he is my kitty and I adore him.
3) Sparkly nail polish, with which to paint my nails and make them glitter whilst I type. Today's flavor is SpaRitual's Up At Noon under OPI's Rainbow Connection.
3a) SpaRitual's new collection which I need like burning. Ugh. *grabby hands*
3b) My Little Pony-themed polish because yes. Also I need like burning.
3c) Also this. And this.
4) Writing. The voices in my head keep me sane.
4a) The people who read those stories and enjoy them. Y'all keep me happy.
5) Mind-altering medications, 'nuff said.
6) Tea! Delicious, delicious tea of any sort. Oolong, jasmine, raspberry, Irish Breakfast, chamomile, chamomile and lavender, whatever the hell my "Eden" tea is made of, this tea I have that literally just says "Black tea with blue flowers" idk the rest of the package is in Finnish but it's delicious, Royal Copenhagen black tea, Earl Grey with lavender, green, jasmine green, jasmine pearls, jasmine jasmine jasmine and jasmine oolong is the joy of my heart. And also lavender.
7) Soap! I love soap. Scented soap. Scented soap is wonderful. Especially handmade soap. I just finished a bar of jasmine soap (there it is again) and will be starting... well, I don't know. I'm torn between rose, geranium, and sandalwood. Thoughts?
8) Horses. I haven't been able to spend a whole lot of time with them lately, but I dreamed of them last night, and I love them so much-- I think they are beautiful, and graceful, and so affectionate, and even though they can be dumber than a box of rocks and/or meaner than a sociopathic cat, they are still the loveliest, most wonderful animals on God's green earth.
8a) Except my cat.
9) Books. All of them. Forever. I may not like their content and I may not like their authors, but I love them, I love books, I love stories and narratives. They need to be read, they need to be seen. I don't care if you disagree with the content or dislike the content or have arguments with the content-- that's fine, in fact that's perfect, that's what books should make you do. Just don't ban them and don't burn them. Read them. BOOKS.
