Wherever he’d gone in the ‘verse, she’d gone too. All her teachings, her ideas, her bringin’ up, stuck with him.
‘Cause of her, he’d survived, stayed on Serenity, tried to be better. He figured she’d wanna know he was doin’ alright, that he’d found someone just like her.
“Ma, this is Kaylee.” Jayne said to the air; and could have sworn he heard a satisfied chuckle.
