I went to Cedar Point the day before yesterday. MY FACE IS FREAKIN' BURNED!!!!!
I have to say that out of the non-roller coasters, my favorite rides are Maxair and Sky Hawk. Which, by the way, have two totally separate yet interesting stories attached to them.
On Maxair, (and this would be our 2nd time riding), they loaded the people on the ride and then all of a sudden they made everyone get off of the ride. They announced that the ride was "broken" and we could wait in line if we wanted to. A repair man came and we learned that THE HARNESSES WEREN'T LOCKING!!! Uh...I wanted to get out of line right then but Ken was like, "Ahh, come on! You gotta go sometime!" And these (amazingly non-annoying & even funny) teenage boys were ahead of us making us laugh with their wit, making my transition into possible death-by-amusement-ride more pleasant. They got it "fixed" by not seating the areas that weren't locking. Sooo...I decided the best course of action was to let 45 people on ahead of me (it seats 50), and watch to see them all die. It ran 3 times before it was our turn so I figured it was semi-safe & got on. No one fell out, no one died. Although a lady next to Ken did have a mild panic attack and said that if the harness opened, he would have to hold hands with her friend in order to hold her in the ride. When we wer riding, it lasted waaaay longer than it should have. Apparently, they were having trouble shutting it off. We made it make to the ground in one piece--All's well that ends well.
On Sky Hawk, there was this 40-ish year-old woman riding who was apparently having some issues. She was making the most ridiculous faces--not to mention the most panic-stricken noises that we could hear (obviously) from the ground while the ride was in motion. She was in absolute horror and wanted off the ride! It was so hysterical that everyone in line behind us was laughing and pointing! When the ride stopped and she got off, it wasn't any better. She was crying and hyperventilating. It was awesome!
On Millennium Force, this guy & his girlfriend were riding in the seat behind us. I felt bad b/c the girl had to ride the ride by herself b/c they kicked her boyfriend off of the ride for being too fat. :-( He did the walk-of-shame and she looked like she was going to cry the whole time.
