Wow! A lot has happened since the last time I posted. I’m sorry that I don’t have good communication skills, but I’ve been busy. School’s freaking hectic right now; however, I have a feeling that going to all these rallies and having too much fun on the weekends is partially the reason I’m always rushing to get my reading and paper-writing done.
Anyway, I thought I’d list a few highlights and give links to pictures of my recent activities.
First of all, we had our wedding reception at the end of August. It was a flipping blast, and we followed it with a drunken night of bar hopping that was topped off with “Scare-eoke” at Sir Dick’s. I keep hearing how much it pleased everyone to see me, drunk, with a beer bottle in one hand and a cigarette in the other, and in my wedding dress, singing “Should I Stay or Should I Go” by The Clash. About a month ago I received pictures from my photographer and I posted a few on photobucket (Though, there’s no photos of the drunken night. How about it, Dañell?):

Brittany and Phil were able to come with us, and they were Matt’s and my saddletramps for the weekend! The four of us shared a room at a HoJo with some Josh and Lisa from Chattanooga, and I have to say, that was one of the crappiest hotels I’ve ever slept at. One nice feature, though, were all the creatively named liquor stores around the area, such as Big Man Package. Friday night we met up at the Thinking Man tavern, like we did last year, but this time we had an awesome night ride. Saturday morning we met up at a park for breakfast and had a super long day ride out to Gran Prix Speedway, a go-kart track and arcade. A sponsor of the rally picked up the tab for everything; we even received a bag of tokens for the arcade! Afterward, we went to The Masquerade for gymkhana, the raffle, and a sweet BBQ. The whole thing was rad. We took a break for dinner and then met back at the club for a burlesque show and the awards. The whole thing was a blast, but I have to say I was disappointed that we didn’t win any awards-that’s the first time we haven’t! Sunday, we met up at The James Joyce for breakfast and, later, went to IKEA. I’d describe it, but except for the basic description- really cool and really cheap Swedish furniture- there are no words to describe heaven. After IKEA, we went to Dañell’s birthday party and, then, sadly we had to head home.
Here’s the pictures. The first link is to all of them and the second one is to mine only.

This one was very special: the 2005 All Girl Scooter Rally in St. Augustine! It’s the first time I’ve been and it was the best and most unique rally I’ve ever been to! We Scandals (our all-girl club) had so much fun, despite the numerous break-downs and the guy on the Barbie scooter. I don’t have pictures (posted online) because some things happened that the girls don’t want guys to see, but I can tell you about them! Brittany, Rachel, and I went down with Matt, but Matt went off with Noelle’s husband for a man’s weekend in Daytona Beach. After we and Noelle, Kay, and Dañell arrived, we headed into the historic part of St. Augustine for a haunted pub tour! It was so much fun getting drunk and hearing ghost stories! On Saturday, we had a mimosa breakfast and had a day ride where we hit all the historic sites. I brought a lot of girly clothes to go with the theme of the rally, so I had a skirt and high heels on for the day ride. I’d also had my fuel tap recently replaced in my scooter, so it wasn’t kick starting like usually. So, here’s the scenario: me in ridiculous high heels trying over and over to kick start my scooter at every stop leading me to have a cry and a fit about how stupid I was to wear the shoes. So, what did I get in return? A “Pride of Manolo” Award for wearing the highest heels! Also, ironic, Noelle told off the fat guy with the Stella with naked Barbies glued to it to take a hike and, subsequently, she felt bad for being rude and worried that she pissed off some of the girls. Instead, she received a “Dance Commander Award” for telling him off!!! I love irony! So, Saturday night we had a night ride and hit some more pubs and then ended the evening with a huge party back at the hotel were drunken debauchery ensued. It was lingerie only, and we had a tickle fight and a pillow fight that broke a bed! Tons of fun! On Sunday, we had a girly gymkhana that involved putting on make-up quickly and then riding to a finish line; afterwards, we were judge on how well our make-up looked. I didn’t win, but I didn’t care much. I was too busy enjoying myself. I think this rally, more than any other, has caused the worst case of Post-Rally Depression I’ve ever had. It was so great to bond with scooter girls because I feel that I don’t get that chance at regular rallies.
Next month, we’re heading to Birmingham for their inaugural rally. That should be a blast. I’m still trying to work out the details of the Halloween party (Matt’s giving me some resistance). Oh, and my birthday was last week…. I’m 26 now. To be honest, I’m starting to feel old; I told Matt the other day that we needed to slow down and take a weekend off to relax.
I hope everyone’s doing well!
