Fic writing, it ain't happening

I have a bunch of prompts I snagged over at be_compromised's Promptathon 2012 (seriously, go check it out. There's a ton of prompts going on with 2000+ comments and the added joys of squeeing and synchronized flailing sprinkled throughout), and I'm having trouble. It's not that I don't know what I want to do, I do, I'm just having trouble putting my thoughts down onto paper. I'm working on a 12 part series with 200 word drabbles which is detailing Natasha's recruitment and first solo mission with SHIELD from Clint, Natasha, and Coulson's POV using espionage definitions.

The part I'm having trouble with is hitting the initial 200 word count for each definition (seriously). I'm not worried about Coulson's POV, even though I've never written him before, and what I know of him is from his tiny scenes in the Avengers and Iron Man 2 plus whatever has been written about him in fic. I'm sure my beta will catch me if I go too out of character for him. I feel like I have a lot of filler going on with the scenes, which I'm not completely sure if I need, but 100 words wasn't enough, and 200 words is feeling like too much with the second half of this series. I'm going to keep going with what I have for a 200 word count though, and hopefully this series turns out better than I'm thinking it will at the moment.

I also told my beta that I wouldn't send her a part until I'm done the whole thing, because all the scenes connect directly to each other, even if it doesn't seem like it (things happen off screen which I can't show due to brevity), and I'm now hating my decision.

I just want to finish this fic already. Is that too much to ask?

writing, journal, midnight ramblings, avengers
