On Procrastination

First off, I would like to say something: "Hi, I'm Hermione, and I have a problem with procrastination."

I'm writing this when I should be working on an assignment, which is due tomorrow, studying for a test this week, or reading the Princess Bride (procrastination at its finest). I came to a realisation today: I love procrastinating. There's something about the thrill of "will I be able to finish in time" which sort of speaks to me. There's a risk taken when you put something off, as long as possible. This is why, when I don't finish something on time, it's not usually because I forgot about it (I usually have assignments written in three different places so I DON'T forget about them), it's because I wanted to see how far I could push the envelope before it broke.

Of course, this leads to problems, mainly in low grades. I know the material, I just can't be bothered to go back through it again, or I don't give myself enough time to go through it again. Now that I've acknowledged it, I should probably be more aware of what I'm doing and figuring out how to fix it.

That may be something for another day, though.
