Errands & Party Planning
Still sick. Alex is, too. Yesterday we spent almost the entire day on the couch watching TV (or napping). Today we had some errands to do. We ran to Lynnwood to Scan Design to return the fabric swatch from our sofa that we borrowed. Then we went grocery shopping, including picking up a bunch of supplies for our Oktoberfest party this Sunday.
Tomorrow we'll have to stick fairly close to home as we're expecting our Room & Board delivery of our parsons tables for the family room between 2pm-5pm. Other than that, no plans.
Friday, if Alex and I are feeling reasonably okay, we're planning on heading out to Pike Place Market to pick up our Nurnberger bratwurst and our German sweet snacks.
Then, that means that I can spend part of Saturday prepping foods for the party on Sunday. I'm planning on serving homemade pretzels with various mustards (oops - forgot to buy fun mustards! Guess I"m going back to the store at some point!), the bratwurst, sauerkraut, cucumber salad, pot roast, gravy, homemade dumplings, spaetzle, red cabbage, and drinks! Oh, the drinks! Peter has a few different kinds of beer, then there's sparkling apple juice, and the ever present Coke/Orange Fanta mix known as Spezi.
Should be a fun party!
