After 16 months of living in downtown Seattle, we've finally decided to pack up and move yet again. In late July we'll be moving from our current place in downtown Seattle to a new apartment in downtown Bellevue.
Our new address will be:
10495 NE 4th Street #405
Bellevue, WA 98004
Our reasons for moving?
1) Desire to put more into our savings - the new place will cost approx $800/month less than the current one.
2) More space - the new place will have approx 200 sqft more space than where we're at now. We can pull some of our belongings out of storage - YAY!
3) Loss of view -
this was our view when we first moved in, but due to a new building going up next door our current view is more
like this and will only be more limited as the building nears completion. Believe me - the
4th of July fireworks over the lake were much more impressive before that freakin' building obscurred the lake.
Along with the decision to move, I've decided to put off opening my own massage clinic. There's multiple reasons for this as well, first & foremost being that I feel I need more experience actually giving massage professionally first. Before I manage people who are senior to me in the field, I want to make damn sure I know what I'm doing. I also want more experience actually working for a small massage business first to see how someone else is doing it. I want to learn from their mistakes to cut down the number of my own in the future.
So, effective almost immediately I'll be looking for a massage job within walking distance of our new place. The good news is that my early research shows at least 6 places within a 4 block radius. I just need to make a few small changes to my resume (luckily we had to rewrite our resumes during the last quarter of massage school, so it's almost complete) and then start canvassing the neighborhood massage joints. Right now I have everything from the big local spa to a one-man chiropractic office on my list - with a couple of small spas and massage-only places in between. :-)
