1. How old were you in 1980?
I turned 3 in November of 1980.

I turned 12 in November of 1989
3. Were you a Toys 'R' Us kid?
Not really. We had one somewhere in the vicinity, but didn't really shop there as we were rather poor.
4. Did you watch Transformers?
Yes - I had a brother 2 years younger than I did and he definitely watched it, so by default, so did I.
5. Did you see E.T. on the big screen?
Yes, it was the first movie I saw on the big screen. I had nightmares for weeks that I was stuck in the haz-mat suit thingy dying with E.T.
6. Did you own a Lite Brite?
My grandma had one for us that we played with at her house. I think it had too many loose pieces to be in our house for long.
7. Who is your favorite Golden Girl?
I don't have one - we didn't really watch it at all - it was about old ladies and we were just kids.
8. When someone says "Who you gonna call?" you think?
Ghostbusters! (duh)
9. What was your favorite toy?
I don't know about favorite, but I definitely remember receiving the My Little Pony castle for Christmas one year. It kicked ass and was one of my larger presents during my childhood.
10. Did you have a Pogo Ball?
I don't think I did, but I remember a friend (Dawn McCadden) definitely had one that I played on.
11. Did you listen to New Kids on the Block?
Um, yes. In fact, a concert of theirs in Troy, MI was the very first concert I ever went to.
12. What New Kid did you have a crush on?
It took me awhile to decide. Very early on it was Joey because he was closest to my age. Then I had a very brief crush on Donnie before settling in to crush on Jonathan for the long haul.
13. Did you play M.A.S.H?
Um, no. Again, that show was a bit to adult for me at the time.
14. Did you watch The Care Bears?
Yes. I think I even had one or two of them in stuffed form. And at times pretended to give a Care Bear Stare! :-)
15. Did you have jelly bracelets?
Yes, a bunch of jelly bracelets and even a pair of jelly shoes or two.
16. Did you ever own a slap bracelet?
Not when I was little. They showed up in vending machines a few years back and I bought one.
17. The Breakfast Club or Sixteen Candles?
The Breakfast Club hands down!
18. Did you have a crazy hair style?
Not terribly crazy. I did curl my bangs with the top half curling up and the bottom half curling under so that when I walked they bobbed like a mouth. But that was a pretty normal style back then. Not as weird as a mullet or a spiked mohawk.
19. What was your first bike?
Geez - I have no freakin' idea.
20. Name one thing you still own from your childhood?
Unfortunately I don't have anything any older than late high school. Most of my stuff got left behind when I moved out of my mother's house when I was 15. She got rid of all of it when she moved later in the year.
21. Did you have a Cabbage Patch Kid?
I had two. A blond one named Holly and a brunette named Violet. I don't remember the middle names (surprised enough that I remember their first names).
22. Rainbow Brite or Strawberry Shortcake?
Rainbow Brite!
23. Did you watch Miami Vice?
Nope - not at all. Again, it was too adult for us.
24. Did you own a Trapper Keeper?
Yes, but not until they'd been out a couple years. I had a purple one with white trim.
25. Atari or Nintendo?
Nintendo. In fact, I'd LOOOOOVE to get my hands on the Loony Tune - Tiny Toon game in updated form for either PC or XBOX. It was my favorite.
26. Did you play Pac-Man?
Yeah, I remember playing Pac-Man on a friend's Atari as well as at the arcade occasionally.
27. Which was better: Jem and The Holograms or Barbie and The Rockers?
OMG - Jem was totally outrageous! I recently rented the series from NetFlix to watch all over again. I have a Jem LJ userpic.
28. He-Man or She-Ra?
She-Ra was more to my liking, but again, due to my brother I watched both. As with Jem, I recently rented the She-Ra series from NetFlix to watch over again. I also have a She-Ra LJ userpic.
29. What movie scared you the most?
Hmm, we didn't watch scary moves much, but I do remember seeing part of Nightmare on Elm Street when I was too young to do so. It scared the bejeezus out of me! It didn't help that one of the girls in that flick was named Tina, which was too close to my own name.
30. Did you try to dance like Michael Jackson?
Oh, I'm sure I tried to moonwalk a time or five when I was little.
31. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear "flux capacitor"?
"You chicken, Marty McFly?"
32. What other colors did Pepsi come in?
We weren't allowed to drink soda, but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing Pepsi clear and maybe even a blue version once upon a time.
33. Roger Rabbit or Howard The Duck?
OMG - I haven't thought about Howard The Duck in ages! I saw it more often so it wins, although Roger Rabbit was one of the last movies I saw at a drive-in theater. It was playing in a double along with Three Men and a Baby. I may have to add Howard The Duck to my NetFlix queue.
34. Did you ever beg your parents to have your school picture taken with the 'LASER' background?
Um no. First of all I don't think it was an option at my school. Second of all, we probably wouldn't have been able to afford it.
35. Do you know what the Ninja Rap is?
I'm almost positive it was something the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles did.
36. Do you know why people cringe when they hear the word BUCKNER?
Ooh - no - I have absolutely NO IDEA about this one. I hope someone responds and enlightens me.
37. Can you name the family members from the National Lampoon's Vacation movies?
Let's see - I own the Christmas version so I should be able to do this. The kids were Rusty & Audrey. Mom was Ellen. Chevy was uh . . . . . . Clark! Yeah, Clark!
38. Did you have pump sneakers?
No - those were definitely out of our price range.
39. Did you own HYPER COLOR shirts?
Surprisingly yes. Somehow I got my hands on a purple one that turned pink. God, those were a bad idea. Teenage girls wearing those these days are just asking a guy to grab their breasts. How did the school administration deal with that crap when we were little?
40. Did you watch Smurfs?
Definitely! I loved Azriel, the cat. And Thundercats and the Snorks, and The Littles, and a bunch of other shows that weren't mentioned in this meme. :-)
