If you gave birth to two children within 12 months, and because of the way their birthdates fall they could both start school at the same time, would you start both of them at the same time/in the same grade?

For example, to start Kdg in an imaginary school system this next fall, a child must be 5 before October 1 (meaning born on or before September 30, 2007).  You had your first child in October 2006 and second child in September 2007, so both are eligible to start K this year.  Assume both are academically and socially ready, according the the school's requirements/assessments.  Would you start them both?  Why or why not?

Would it make a difference if:

they are both boys or both girls?  or one is a boy, other is a girl (in either order)?
the school is very small and only has one class per grade level?
the youngest is even more socially ready than the oldest?
it is very common for parents to hold back Aug/Sept birthdates until the following year?
if you would have to apply for a waiver to hold the youngest child back, because he/she is academically/socially ready? (e.g., school doesn't allow holding back when assessments are "passed".)

What do you see as the pros/cons to having non-twin siblings in the same grade (for no other reason than where their birthdates fall...not talking about kids being held back once in school, etc)?
