I think it depends on the issue. I wouldn't take my kid to protest a subtle issue that they can't/couldn't really grasp and therefore can't really have an opinion about, particularly if it wasn't one that affected kids and families and if things were likely to get dangerous.

My mom took me to a rally for Nelson Mandela, and while some of the subtleties were beyond me, I had a pretty solid grasp on the situation and being anti-apartheid and unfair imprisonment is one of those pretty safe, high-consensus issues. She also took me, though, to a rally in favor of the local nurses union (I think mostly because she couldn't arrange childcare in time) and I had no idea what the hell was going on.

So in my instance, obviously my son has no idea what's happening and no opinion either way, he's just enjoying playing with a bright coloured flag.

I'd totally take kids to something like that as long as it was an event that was going to be safe. That's absolutely an issue that affects kids and families, and, like being anti-apartheid and unjust imprisonment, I think being pro equality is a stance I'm comfortable interim-including my kids in while they can't express a preference. Plus, in your case, the boobs are going.

oh I'm so glad you posted this, I just wanted to see the cute picture ;)
but yeah, he goes where the boobs go at this age, and his politics don't enter into it yet, as long as it's safe! :)

Even in those ridiculously oversized pants he still gets the ladies saying he's cute :) My hubby is always so embarrassed when I dress him in them but they're just so comfy!
