*yawns* sore throat today - i was probably snoring loudly enough to wake the dead last night. and not just the local yokals, but i'm sure you could probably but togather a 28 Days Later sequal from the folks who rose up to tell me to *shut* up, heh.
the dream last night was me and a bunch of people working hard to get the castle ready, except the layout wasn't like the one i've got in my mind for the RL build. it was more like the ones i used to draw as a teenager, a sort of outdoor porch surrounding the building on all sides, on all floors. the internal rooms were massive, and full of secret doors and stuff. and we had 2 days... and we ran over of course. but! it was friday, and we were sure we could get it done by monday! dreams, gotta love 'em.
chair update:
the chair is coming along, but more slowly than i thought it would. part of that is because this is one big learning experience. and part of that is that i underestimated the materials and tools i'd need to finish. the upper box, which has the seating platform, needs to have batting on all four sides so when you sit the wood edges don't crease your butt. so i was doing that last night, making batting 'piles' and pulling the fabric tight over them and stapling it... and i went through 2 rolls of batting in two sides. eesh. so, more batting tonight, and the foam for the actual seat cushion, and i should be able to start sewing on the cushion this weekend. i've only been able to find 27" wide foam, and i need 29" square foam. I found a roll of 2"x27"x76" foam at Hobby Lobby last week, and i'll probably buy that and cobble together my 29" square. so i'm thinking i want/need one of those hooked needles to make basting it together easier.
health/food:
so, i'm at 260.8 this week, officially. i'd been having trouble sleeping in the middle of the week, not sure why, so while i got down to 259.8, i gained a pound probably due to eating a bit more to stay awake during the day. not the best solution, but an instinctual one, and i'm not worried about it. what i'm pleased with is that i'm back to going generally down in my weight-loss pattern, instead of 'on a plateau'. i know a good chunk of that was adjustment to the excercise issues, so again, i'm not overly worried or overjoyed, but it does make me happy to see that my 'adjustment period' is over and i'm back on track.
the chair has been bad for exercise - i went swimming only 1x this week, and no belly dancing. it's all because the chair is upstairs. you wouldn't think that'd be such a big deal, but my left knee has been achy all week and when i get upstairs, i just don't want to come back down again. it'll be easier when i start doing the stitching for the cushion, because i can do that all *downstairs*. i know that sounds sad, but it's true.
the other thing is, i'm looking for a new way to ingest veggies. fresh and cooked to death in the crock is starting to get boring, and sauteeing's a bit too much work. so i was thinking i'd like a george foreman grill, or something similar that i can do indoors. and also, i want some skewers, so i can make shish kabobs. i think a trip to target is in order.
house savings update:
i need new shocks on my car. i wouldn't mind so much, except the timing is less than optimal. of course, that describes everything, so eh. but basically, i don't get to pay into my house-savings acct this week, because i'm paying for the front struts on my car on saturday. grrrr. otoh, that's about 3 hrs of uninterrupted stitching in half-stitch hell on saturday morning, so...
and that's the state of boogie, today.
