Holy shit, I'm actually updating. What a shock. Actually, this won't really be much of an update, just a general synopsis of what I've been up to since the end of November. Yeah...this whole LiveJournal act kinda got lost in the fold and my eagerness to update went a similar southbound way. Don't take this entry to mean I'll start updating regularly again, either. I might, I might not, it all depends. I tend to think of my daily life as rather dull and not usually worth writing about, and I'm not much for introspection or daily internet gimmicks. And my discussion of other topics often is met with mixed results (which is why I moved my anime rantings
here). Whatever I do though, I'll keep this account active in order to read other peoples' journals, participate in Animesnobs once more, and leave little comments of varying quality where I consider it necessary.
So...just what have I been up to in the past 1/4 of a year?
-My folks got a new dog. She's an oversized rottweiler puppy named Libby, and she's way too energetic for her own good. Barely a day goes by that she isn't getting into trouble, which is made worse by the fact that she's already more than knee-high in size. Still, we love her, and I've been reminded as to how much of a dog person I actually am (our other, smaller, older dog isn't too pleased by her though).
-We...almost moved to another house. Urban sprawl got to be a bit much and we began making plans to move somewhere up into the northern part of the county (I think). However, the realtors we signed up with fucking screwed us over and we had to cancel those plans. So yeah...still here (and since it still seems to cause confusion, I did not move away to attend college; I commute).
-The fact that DISH Network gets lousy reception in thick tree cover prompted us to opt for Comcast. Got hooked up on Friday, but the guy that did it must've screwed up somewhere because my folks aren't getting basic channels unless through the cable box and my cable box went bust after an hour or so (also never got the On Demand verification and the digital channels never came in right). Hopefully it'll all be fixed on Monday, since they're sending someone else out to check up on it all.
-I'm currently in the middle of Storyboarding & Animatics class, which is commonly considered to be the true Rite of Passage to determine whether or not you're fit for the animation major. I'm not faring too well at the moment, which is simply par for the course by what my friends who've taken it have told me, but hopefully I'll survive. I'm also taking Science of Light (Physics class with a more specific focus) and Art History III (Baroque to today), and faring decidedly much better in them.
-Anyone seen that new show, House? Awesome stuff.
-So is Super Milk-chan (shut up, I'm serious).
-Naruto's been licensed, and it's confirmed to be coming to Cartoon Network later on in 2005. Finally. Shame I'm rather iffy on the way Viz handles their anime acquisitions. FUNimation, how could you let me down? Ah well, it won't be treated too terribly...well...once it gets put out in box set format, that is.
-On a similar note, anime fans suck. Not all of them, but most of them. Whiny, irrational, insecure, self-important assholes, they is.
So yeah, that pretty much covers the sort of topics I'd've posted about since I last bothered to update. Told you it was all pretty dull stuff.
Before I conclude this entry, I want to address something else that's been bugging me lately. I know I have several friends from high school on my Friends list who (used to, anyway) read this thing. I also know I have several friends from high school on my Friends list that I haven't directly spoken to in a long while. I don't like that. People, please, make with the e-mail (use my G-mail addy, please), make with the IM/MSN, this sucks!
Alright, that's it from me for now. Again, I might pick this thing up once again, I might not, or I might only do a post every few months like this. It depends. Cya 'til then.
