Tuesday. Star Wars comes out today on DVD. Apparently it's the damnable Special Edition from 1997 with some new crap thrown on top. I wonder if it's actually worth getting...I mean, on the one hand it is one of my all-time favourite movie series, but then it's also got a bunch of unnecessary changes and some quick fixes on some unnecessary changes made last time (yeah, apparently Han Solo doesn't look like a hologram having a seizure when ZOMG GREEDO SHOOT FIRTS!!!!!!!111111one1111thsiscrap111).

I'll probably get it, but then I gotta find a way to preserve those old VHS copies of the original films, too...

Anyway, I've probably mentioned this before, but I figure I will again because it's recently come back into mind. I find that when I watch a serious, character-driven anime, I can't follow it very well if it's on some TV schedule (especially late-night), but when I check it out on my own time, I tend to enjoy it a whole helluva lot more. For example, I didn't quite enjoy Crest & Banner of the Stars and Boogiepop Phantom when they ran on TechTV, but when I watched them on DVD at my own pace, I absolutely adored them. Hell, Boogiepop's even one of my all-time favourites. And in the past couple of days, another series has joined this odd little lineup: Witch Hunter Robin. When it ran on Adult Swim, I missed episodes and didn't pay it very much attention. But now that I've seen up to episode fifteen on my own, I'm completely enthralled with it. It takes a while to get to the main plot (about ten episode, in fact), but it's still every bit as awesome as I had originally thought it'd be. I can't wait to see the rest (which...I should be able to do before AWA).

Speaking of AWA, I'm definitely going, but it seems as though all the groups I had planned to tag along with are dropping out one by one. As it is, I currently have no option but to commute back & forth between Snellville & Atlanta; a good hour or so's drive, and one I don't look forward to making at about 2:00 & 3:00a.m. on Friday & Saturday nights. I could probably try and stay awake through the whole thing, but I'd rather maintain some semblance of hygiene and I know I wouldn't last. Ah well, commuting's not THAT bad, just inconvenient.

Well, I guess this is me off. Lemme see if I can't get a decent start on the first Azumanga review this time...got stuck last night.
