When I was about 5 years old, I decided that I'm going to go to the army first thing when I graduate from high school. I wasn't the girliest girl (I did have my princess phase, though) and I figured that if there'll be a war in Finland, I don't want to be a woman waiting at home and fear for her man, I want to be there to help our homeland. I'm not much of a patriot, but I will fight for my country.
I know that it's tough as hell, but I'm going to do it. I promised myself that, and I will hold on to it.
After I've completed that, I don't really know what I'll do. A career at the military is one possibility - I'll have to see after I complete the service though - and I've always been interested in languages and history. Though I love music, I know for a fact that it won't be my future, other than a hobby, a past-time activity.
I would love to study different languages and history, and I think the two go a bit hand in hand.
Also, psychology. I'm really interested in that and I think I would do great as a psychologist/psychiatrist, I'd only have to learn how to not take people's problems as my own.
Most likely, what I'll go study will be something of those. When I was younger, I wanted to be a lawyer, but... Nah. Not me.
I'm almost 95% I'd like to go abroad to study. Probably in the UK or the US, somewhere near big cities. The 5% of that want me to stay in Finland. Again, one thing I have to decide.
(After the exchange student year, I'll know if I want to live in the US. I want to do an Au Pair year in the UK though to know if I like it there - probably after the army - and then decide.)
