Wood can certainly be chaffing, darling. One must be careful and have a light touch when handling it.

As for the way I speak, since it is such cause for concern of late: I have always spoken this way. I was raised to be polite and speak eloquently. As was Pansy. I have known her all my life. And yes, we did, in fact, have the same witch and wizard teaching us manners when we were very young. As did many of the other well-born witches and wizards who attend this school.

Your last statement, darling, well...frankly it baffles me. To whom are you referring? Certainly not Vincent? Because he is the only one I know who has partaken of the punch. Please do not distress him more by suggesting such a thing! It is peoples' ignorance that often causes most problems. Vince is very much enamoured with his girlfriend. And I am very much just his friend. He is a wonderful, caring friend, and I support him in all of his decisions. And that is all. And he does not have anything of the sort to "jack off", as you so strangely put it. I think you may have misunderstood just what and whom I was referring to.

Alas.

People definitely need to take care to avoid splintering their wood, and make sure to check for any damage before using it.

Well-bred people speak so weirdly.

To your friend Vincent, because he strikes me as trying to be a lumberjack when maybe he isn't. Flannel really, really wouldn't suit him. I don't know him or his girlfriend or you for that matter well at all, so hey, it's not like I can say for sure what they're like. But he shouldn't try to lumberjack if he's not a lumberjack, and for that matter, it's all right if a lumberjack wants to wear high heels, suspendies, and a bra every once in awhile. Rigid gender stereotypes are sooo outdated.
