Aw man I was supposed to be off today but a co-worker had a death in the family. So they called me up to go in today which is cool cause I could use the extra cash for later. What a week I'm having I finally found my keys that were missing since the DEAL show last friday. I looked everywhere all weekend till I went to the first place I should have gone. Denny's!!! We went there on thursday night after having a couple of beers at the COLD BREW and at TKO's. I asked the waitress if she had found any keys with an 8 ball on it. And she responds by saying "ay estave esperando cuando ivas a regresar" and winks. We all start laughing and I feel relief after having them in my hands again. I was lucky cause they have the only keys to my broken down van. After Denny's we tried to fix up the van but to no avail. I gotta get that van fixed soon if i'm gonna name it soon. Inside joke with the rest of the crew. BIATCH!!!
Well anyways, today after work I got to practice with UNDERBOSS. It was a while since the last we'd practice. We came up with a new cover for the SINAI BEACH show. I can't wait till we play it and hopefully people will get off to it. This upcoming show is gonna be our last show till we take a break for a while. Sergio's wife is gonna give birth next week and we are all taking a "maturnity leave" till she gets better. It might be a while but we need a break to finish recording our new CD and write new material. I already have a couple of ideas for new songs and Adam wrote a riff that we've been dying to try. Sounds heavy as fuck but I gotta put in my 2 cents to put a sprinkle of NY in there. I'm working on 3 new songs. One which is called "Home Field Advantage" which I was inspired by a conversation I had with Al one time. We were both talking on how both times we played at Lizard's we didn't get the same vibe as Sal's. Which was something we were predicting it would happpen. Anyways, Al kept mentioning on how Sal's is our home turf and how proud we are to represent Sal's everytime we play at another bar. The other 2 songs i'm writing don't have a name as of yet. But one was inspired on how the old school forget where they came from. The keep dissing Sal's on how it's trash. When they themselves started playing there years ago. These fucks forgot their roots. I sure didn't. The other song is kinda violent. But that's how I feel sometimes when shit don't go right. I was gonna call it Brass Knuckle Justice but some friends of mine make a face everytime I tell them the name. It's just a song on how some people in this fucked up world deserve a good beating. I guess I'll just call it "Throwdown part 2". An ode to an old song I wrote when some friends of mine were jumped at Crucifijo a couple of years ago. Lyrics are hard to write when you don't have the music in your head yet. But I'll manage.
Man I finally saw FINDING NEMO and it was a cool pixar movie. But a lot of people told me that it was better than SHREK. Nah SHREK is still the shit. I can't wait till part 2 comes out. The previews look pretty awesome. I gotta start going to movies again. The last movie I saw was KILL BILL with Gabe. That movie kicks so much ass. The kun fu action is fucking awesome. Can't wait for part 2 as well. I gotta get a date so I can start going to movies. Going with Gabe is just not working for me anymore. He eats all my popcorn and takes all my Reeces pieces. He's no fun anymore. Hahahahahaha.
