so...pretty much havent written in this thing in forever. Hi world. I have to get my car fixed today. It sucks. Well actually i have to take it to get an estimate today. At 4. Then i have a merge meeting (youth internship) at 5:30. On top of that i have to finish life of Pi, figure out why Mike isnt talking to me, finish my clan war idea expansion, work out the 30 hour famine plan and schedule and such, and take people home. Kaila might not be able to come to the body shop cuz she has homework, so it might just be me and Mike. And we're not speaking right now. Fun. But anyhoo...Let me tell you wonderful kids about clan wars.
Clan wars will be an expansion on the normal youth thing, plus some ideas from my head and some from what Sawgrass Community used to do waaay back in the day.
So heres the basic gist:
All of the youth will be divided into 2-4 different groups--"clans" if you will. The clans will be equal and unbiased, by picking your clan out of a hat. That will be your clan for the remainder of your natural life...or until you leave the youth. The clans will compete for a prize every quarter. Points will be given for winning games, bringing guests, everyone in the clan bringing bibles, or breaking records. -->
The Record Book:
Okay. So everyone at my church sets records all the time. First boy in the girls bathroom, first pyramid, first bike ride through the sanctuary, etc. So, for clan wars, we would start all the records over, and have a record book. For the record to count towards your clan, you would either have to have 2 youth witnesses, 1 grown up witness, or photographical evidence. Depending on the quality of the record, the points will vary. The record, if acceptable, will be recorded in that clan's record book, which will continue to be added to even after that quarter's prize is awarded.
