Cell phone text messaging has seriously become ridiculous. I think text messaging is so impersonal. You can seriously say anything that your scared to say, or blame it on the text messaging not sending for the reason why you ignored someone. People ask people out over text message. Break up with one another over text message. Fight over text message. It has gotten so bad, that people say "I love you....and all that blah blah good stuff" in a text message. I'm sorry, but that is fucking corny. I would so rather go a day without a text message saying that, and get a phone call with the person's voice saying it. Or even better, in person.
I'd say there has been one good thing about all this texting mumbo jumbo. Everyone that drives while text messaging, drives way more carefully. Not only are they driving the speed limit, their eyes have 100% concentration of whats going on...after each letter being text.
