While
Wil Wheaton was in Boston, he spoke on a few subjects before reading from his book, Just a Geek. One of them was about being in a bar in Boston while Boston's More Than A Feeling pumped across the sound system. Anyone familiar with
Guitar Hero knows this song, knows it well, and often sees colours when you hear it. Or maybe just me and Wil Wheaton are fucked up. One or the other.
Well, after watching a bit of the "I Love the 70s, Vol 2: 1970" episode, I decided I needed to listen to some 70s music. I booted up iTunes, made me a neat-o-keen "Smart Playlist" of all music with a date between 1970 and 1979. Near the top of the list is, of course, Boston, especially when you sort by album title. Without thinking, I pressed play on More Than A Feeling. And that's all it took. I got half way through the song and then had to do the following:
Me: shit. Now I need to go start up Guitar Hero
Me: <-- just played Boston's "More than a feeling"
Susan: :(
Susan: :) rather
Me: but.. i can close my eyes... and see it.
Me: AHHHHHHHHHHHH
Me: DAMN YOU WIL WHEATON
Me: ok, i need to go play the song
Me: i'll be back in 5
So, I went, kicked up the PS2, set to medium level, and went. I managed 90% of the notes, 92 note streak, 4 star review. Let's get something clear:
I. Fucking. Rock.
For your listening pleasure, I present (at 256kbps) Boston:
More Than A Feeling.
