A post of Gaussian proportion

Jan 16, 2006 20:43

Ok, this is a ginormous round-up post. This will include many thing, and, by the end should degrade in to silliness as I'm hammering back one of those big bottles of white wine since my dinner date forgot about me. That's why you must always TRIPLE CHECK schedules.

A weekend in overview
Friday:

I had tripled booked myself on Friday, by being an idiot, and decided on the Pants/Christ/Thaddeus combination at Friday's. Thad had to work, so Pants, Christ and I enjoyed some threesome time before it became a verbal orgy of fun. Sadly, Pants and Thad had a small lover's quarrel and I was forced to give Jesus VonKillYourFamily handjobs under the table. I'm still crying.

We left about 11, and I headed home, head full of Superduper electric lemonade. I pop inside, and there is my Aunt Donna, my Stepaunt Robin, and my mother. Robin was spending the weekend up here so she could hang out with her "sisters." It was a nice, family bonding experience, and we stayed up til 2 am gabbing like 15 year old girls. Charles would probably say "Man, that's a little gay." And I wouldnt entirely disagree with him. But it was nice to see a new side of my "aunt" Robin.

Saturday:
Laziest fucking day ever. I burnt of 10 U2 bootlegs (Don't worry 62, if you ever remember to bring storage up here, you'll get your hand on them). I cleaned. I rebuilt the OS on my mom's laptop. Like I said, lazy-fucking-day.

At night, we went to "Captain something or others" down on Salem wharf. A wonderful restaurant that had a waitress both aunt's, my mother, and her friends were all trying to set me up with. Sadly, she left early, and I'm a hideous monster.

The othe reason for being at the restaurant was that my Aunt Donna's friends, Paula and Jamie (This one's a he) are a duo called "Plan B," which does acoustic covers of pop/rock songs, with a few originals mixed in. On this night, the had a local singer/songwriter Eric Somefuckingshitlastname join them. He was a funny guy, and added to the duo's sound. Being a self-promoting whore, you can see pictures of the performance at http://askani97.fotki.com/rock_shows/plan_b/ or check out their website at some fucking address I can't find.

While there, a gal who had performed with Eric showed up. She sat lonely at a table, and I felt emo-sad that she was lonely, so while I was up at the bar opening a drink tab, I noticed she was there trying to order a drink. I told her to just throw what she wanted on my tab, and come join us, because you shouldn't sit alone at a music show. She ordered a coke. This told me all I needed to know, and I spent the rest of the night being nice. But not too friendly.

When you spend an evening with women who are twice your age (my mom, my aunt donna, their high school friends) and one who is your aunt but only 5 years your elder ("Auntie" Robin"), you begun to pick up on subtleties.

Long story short, this gal is 18 and I feel horribly awkward for being NICE, not even trying to hit on her.

The 3 sets went of nice by the group, despite the Patriots being the biggest fucking asswipes this side of Iraq.

4 Guinness, 4 Vodka tonics. I drank light with family there.

Another night up 'til 2am, gabbing like high school girls. I learned a few things, yes, but not much I didn't know. Which may or may not come as a surprise, but I am gifted.

Sunday:
Two night's til 2am take a toll on a body who likes sleep while it is dark out. I was up by 9, the "sun" waking me on and offf from 6:45.

Robin left at about noon, and it was a REALLY fucking lazy day. I watched whatever shit was on TV, worked on my iTunes library, and not much else. X1 and X2 were on FX at night, so I spen an evening with my favourite muties. This day was a true waste.

Monday:
This was an interesting day. Got to bed before it was Monday, which is always a plus, slept for 8 hours, woke up exhausted. Which just goes to show, you sleep enough, and you want more.

Had to take my grandmother on a "dry run" to the oral surgeon where she was getting a check up from, and then spent some time visiting in Saugus. Came back home, played some Civ3, and headed to get dinner at Chili's.

While I waited for dinner, I ran over to Circuit City because I thought I'd seen DVD-DL's on sale for $30 for a 25 pack, but apparently, I was drunk when I read the sunday circulars. Grabbed dinner, came home, popped open some wine. And voila! Here I am.

Weirdness
The weekend presented me with a number of oddities, including my Aunt Robin being here. Seeing her at holidays/family events is one thing, but 2 days with her, and I began to see how much more of her there is. Which is totally a good thing. But, still, weird.

I've spent so much time listening to the rest of my family about bot "auntie" robin and "uncle" ted, that I don't think I ever fully formed my own opinion on either of them, and this weekend allowed me to do just that.

You thought I'd tell you, didn't I? Sorry, how about a nice game of chess?

Aside: Ha! Chess! I remember the first time someone tried to teach me chess. It was in Starbucks in Saugus, by Sarah, who also wanted to use the time to apologize for something that seemed huge at the time, but, in retrospect, was completely understandable and shouldnt have even been a blip on the radar. Oh, older age, how it changes your view.

Cursed Television
I made the mistake of my life last night. I watched a hint of 24. Only a hint. But then, today, 24 was on A&E. So I watched more of it. I can see the intrigue. I can see the interest. And GODDAMNEDJESUSCHRISTFUCKINGHELLS, I want to watch more. Jack Bauer, you're my hero.

A promise
I swear, but Odin's bristlin' beard, I will spam you, my belove LJ fans, no more tonight. Unless the vino convinces me otherwise. We all know that vino has a strange and powerful control on humanity.

"Come son of Jor-el, kneel before VINO!"

drunk, weekend
