Demockracy

So once again, I return to blissful unawareness of how the American political system works.
I mean, I guess it's not so much that, rather that I have lived too long in the Yale bubble where everyone and they mother is a Democrat, so I had no idea that there was a whole nation out there many of whom actually didn't think Bush was the devil. This was a revelation to me, and I guess these results are a testament to democracy since Bush won both the popular vote AND the electoral college votes. So...at the end of the day, at least the results aren't some Supreme Court sham. It was the way it actually went.

C'est la vie. Who knows? Maybe we'll all be surprised by the outcome of this next Bush administration. Maybe the world won't get nuked after all and maybe all these issues that the Dems were really pulling hard for are just going to have to settle for a while and permeate the population a little more - it just seems like America isn't ready for those kinds of leaps in the areas that liberals were talking about.

Hmm. I just had a funny thought. Francisco is going to read this post and then comment that I am full of crap since I know less about politics than your average capuchin eating cheese, and also that I don't even know what a liberal IS far less what they talked about in the pre-election period.

So on that note, maybe I will just go back to shutting up and being international.

God bless America.
