Tales from the Boobie Bar!

Suck the first!

Two men, about my age (25) come in.

As the girls go around to them, they "hint" that they have a way for us girls to make more money.

OH GEE I WONDER WHAT HIS IDEA IS.

At first, they wouldn't come right out and say what they were wanting. Probably to avoid trouble, I don't know.

I managed to convince them both that I was lesbian. They stopped trying to proposition me.

But! Dancer C went to them after I did, and this is roughly what happened.

Customer=Hey, uh, do you do parties?
Dancer=Yep! $200 per half hour, plus tips-and I bring security of my choosing.
Customer=And I get to fuck you, right?
Dancer=No. I'm not a prostitute.
Customer=*huffs* DO I LOOK LIKE SOMEONE THAT WOULD REALLY NEED TO HIRE A HOOKER?!
Dancer=Dude. You just asked.

Ahahahahaha.

We told the bouncer, who said that if he did it again, the customer would be thrown out. The customer left himself a few moments later anyway.

Suck the second!

A girl I work with related this one to me.

She had been doing a shift at a different bar. She'd been going around for tips on the inside of the bar instead of the outside, and thus kept her money in the garter on her leg.

Some asshole leaned all the way over the bar and grabbed her money.

She reached over and grabbed HIS money off the bar, and said quite reasonably, "Give me mine back, and I'll give you yours back."

Customer beings SCREAMING that she stole his money, she was a dirty thief, etc. The manager came over and told the dancer that he didn't believe the guy stole her money, and to give him back his.

o.O

Needless to say, she quit on the spot.

And now, for some major sucks from tonight.

Now, Easter Weekend tends to be a really good time to work. Some people have off, their wives are off shopping the sales at Linens N' Things, they come in to see us shake it, it's all good. Same thing happens around Christmas.

So I get to work, and it's packed. Awesome.

But nobody wanted to tip anybody. They'd compliment, sure, but their words don't pay my rent.

Telling me I look like Cleopatra doesn't pay my cable bill.

And so on.

After I did a set during which an old guy tried to grab my vajayjay and almost none of the patrons tipped, I told the manager that the guy tried to grab me. Manager said there was nothing he could do since he didn't see it. At which point I went to the DJ and told him that I would not be dancing until we got a decent bar. Management doesn't pay me to be here and I dance to make money. If the customers aren't tipping, I'm not making money. And if management won't protect me, I'm not putting myself in danger by dancing right then.

So I'm sitting upstairs. Manager comes up, once again telling me that he was sorry but he didn't see it, etc. As he's talking, another problem crops up.

Dancer J comes up the stairs, pissed and ranting. Apparently, some customer had told her when she came around that her "dirty pussy isn't worth a dollar to" him. J had told the manager about it, then did a dance. When she got down, the guy was still there, and so she came up and yelled at Manager about it.

Manager is getting upset. Not with us, mind, but with the rules he has to follow when this shit happens:

1. Give customer a verbal warning
2. If customer exhibits the behavior again, then they may be thrown out.

He went down and gave Js customer his verbal warning. The customer got rude with the manager. Other customers were being rude/grabbing the other girls.

Did I mention that Manager is also Supercool!DJ that I post about sometimes? Yeah, he manages one night a week.

So.

He told the bartender not to serve the guy who was mean to J anymore. She complied.

Then he walked to the DJ booth, grabbed the mic, and turned off the music.

"And that's [Dancer] coming down off the main stage! She's available for private dances and courts!

Now, some of you regulars know what it means when I'm working and the music goes off. That's right-it's time for a [Bar Name] Public Service Announcement!

I need all you customers to pay very close attention to me right now, because this is very important for you to understand:

THIS IS YOUR VERBAL WARNING. YOUR ONE AND ONLY VERBAL WARNING.

If you verbally harass or disrespect our dancers, or if you touch or grab one of our dancers in an inappropriate manner," here he pauses, and points towards the door of the club, "there's the door, and we will not HESITATE to show it to you."

He pauses again, and looks at the two customers directly to his right (maybe two feet away), who were babbling to each other and ignoring him. Mic up to his mouth, he leans over slightly towards them (the man is 6'5 and intimidating as fuck) and booms, "DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"

Guys look properly cowed.

Leans back.

"Good. Enjoy yourselves and don't be a dick."

Turns off the mic, and walks away.

All the dancers on the floor burst out into applause. The customers look confused. A few leave. We couldn't care less.

Not two minutes after the announcement was made, a customer grabbed A's tit. The bouncer, C, was told, and immediately went over there and threw him out (he'd been itching to bounce some of these assholes all night, I TELL YOU INTERNET).

So, a happy ending.

And thanks to Manager for taking care of that shit ^.^ You rock, sir.

To crazy!man for actually being polite and nice this time.

And to my regular, who tipped me very well while all the drama was going on.
