I've taken coke (but enough enough that I'd stop noticing) and otherwise been around people taking it. Never noticed any smell at all, though kissing someone who's taken a fair bit gets me an obvious bitter taste. It must be one of those things that some people have receptors for and most don't.

One of the girls from when I was in residential treatment (I was in for mental illness, not drugs) walked by me when I was straightening my hair (y'know, using the hair straighteners with the plates) and she sniffed the air and said "Dude, your hair straightener smells like coke!" I was like "...o.O Really?"

I have no idea if that's what it smells like, but she WAS in there for a coke problem.
