Reason 1
Yesterday a 40 year old filipino woman decided to come to the emergency room with a foot hanging out of her cooch. After the delivery, the neonate came to the pediatric emergency room and one of our (high strung) docs was running around with the baby out in his arms outstretched saying "it's crying it's crying, somebody do something!" tee hee makes me laugh.....
Reason 2
Normal heart rate for an 8 year old child is 60-120 beats per minute. An 8 year came in with chest pain. His heart rate in triage was 202. We do an EKG while he's chillin watching TV his heart rate is 220 and has an SVT rhythm. (basically his SA node or pacemaker of the heart was firing WAY to fast for his ventricles to keep up thus not pumping blood efficiently) What did I have to do? Give him medicine to STOP HIS HEART for 3 seconds and so it can convert to a slower rhythm.
It was the coolest and scariest things ever. the kid started to panic because he could feel his heart stop and kept yelling "I can't breathe!!". All we could do was be supportive and make sure his heart started back up... BTW his heart rate afterwards was 110.
Reason 3
i had a 12 year old who was born with her fontanels and suture lines fused together. Now if she did not have surgery when she was an infant her head would not have grown. Apparently she did not have a very good surgeon to fix the fusions because now at 12 her face is severely malformed. her face is extremely wide and eyes set far apart. Very odd. And the girl was a brat too when I was drawing her bld which bothered me.
Her disorder was called craniosynostosis if you guys want to look it up and see pictures.
PS almost done packing!
