i'm back from tour, with a new appreciation for
Tim Hortons, Victorinox luggage (specifically
this and
this, which i splurged on in duty-free after an incident with their predecessors), and
Pretty Girls Make Graves. If you haven't heard PGMG's latest, click
here and play close attention to the the songs 2-4. go. now.
My portion of the tour was short. Chicago, Toronto, Montreal and NYC. On route from Montreal to NYC Derek, Andrea, Nick and Amy indulged my plea to stop overnight in New Paltz. NP is the adorable little liberal town where my parents met, i was born and all the ladies in my immediate family went to college. Robin has one half of my heart. New Paltz has the other.
in NYC i caught up with two M friends,
Meghan and
Matthew, both at Sweetwater Tavern - one for dinner and the other lunch. My sister picked me up after a gutwrenching teaching evaluation which caused her to miss the show and the day we put aside to tackle wedding stuff. Headed up to Rockland County for lunch with my aunt and two cousin in laws. Lots of passing engagement rings around the table and warnings of "NEVER TAKE IT OFF for ___ because..." courtesy of my aunt arline. It is apparant that i have the smallest diamond of the family. Those Rockland ladies like their carats but i think my lil emerald cut is the prettiest ring i've ever seen.
i took lots of photos. all with my mamiya. i'll have to hold a bake sale to get them developed.
