MEGA MOVIE SUPER RAD ENTRY!!!!!!! or please watch my movies.....please?

Alright. I finally figured out how to compress my films (using windows movie maker, oddly enough) and now I have them all up on youtube. I already put up my first project (the one with nick fucking the suitcase) but here are the other four from this semester:

Assignment: Project 2- We were encouraged to use voice overs, but no synched dialogue was allowed.
Title: "Clean Break"
Starring: My brother, Daniel, My lunatic of a father, Terry.
Why I like it/hate it: This is my LEAST favorite of my movies. It's really immature and not very much of a short film- it's more of a music video with a clear story than a short film set to music. The acting's pretty rad, but the cinematography suffered from both the short amount of time I had to shoot this and the fact that Daniel is 6'8"...making it very hard to shoot his face from my height. But it's still funny, and the fact that my Dad came up with his own costume makes it that much better:

Assignment: Project 3- Same length, we were allowed to use voice overs, but I opted to make an entirely dialogue-less film...mainly because i hate sound editing.
Title: "The Right Exposure"
Starring: The lovely Jessica Dietch (who everyone in my class said they "instantly fell in love with") And Luke Ruegger (who everyone said "looked like how a photo store clerk should look.")
Why I like it/hate it: The original cut of this was much longer, but at the last minute I went through and chopped nearly a minute off. I really like the pacing that came out of that. I wish I had spent more time on props/set design and maybe used a little less hand held camera. Jessee's freakin' adorable, is pretty much the message of this movie.

Assignment: Project 4- Supposed to be a little longer, no synched dialogue again, but voice overs are permitted.
Title: "DESTROY ALL SPONGES!!!"
Starring: Ike, and Luke Ruegger as the voice
Why I like it/hate it: The stop motion came out pretty rad, and the voice of ike and the music i think are the real highlights of it. I really dig the sponge marching scenes mainly because they're set to my favorite red army choir song. I only had some shots of ike doing the right thing (like jumping up and grabbing a sponge or something) once so i didn't have much control over how the camera work came out or how the pacing came out since I had such limited control of a) what the fuck ike was doing and b) what takes i could use.

Assignment: Project 5- our final assignment, no restrictions aside from an 8 minute time limit.
Title: "Debitum Naturae"
Starring: The ever patient Luke Ruegger, A pretty drunk Jaime Gardner, and my LAME TERRIBLE HORRID voice as the voice overs....
Why I like it/hate it: While I like this more than "clean break" and my class really really took to it, I can't help but be super critical because i made it in basically 24 hours....and I feel that it looks like that. I think it could be totally rad if I spent more time on it. I was trying to switch up my tone because I was afraid of getting pigeon holed into making crazy/goofy movies, but hey, I think that's what I'm good at so I just might stick to it. But I really forced myself to actually do some badass sound editing on this one. Plus the title sequence came out pretty rad. I hate my voice, and hate the performance of my voice. Also, I probably should have written a story that was more than like, oh, three lines long for a five minute movie...hahaha.

So yeah, that's it! I hope you enjoy!

I'm working on my resume to send to an internship in santa monica (for the company that made sideways) that my prof. recommended me to. So maybe i will have a productive summer. I've also decided that I'm going to work with some school friends on a sickeningly indie romance movie because, hell i've never done one and i think it would be fun. Anyone want to help write the script? (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, DAN)

OKay, back to more productive resume-ing and coloring old pictures in photoshop for my mother's day present. Woot.

All for niz-ow

movies, film, resume, films, watch this shit bitches
