Driving
I had an awesome driving lesson today. It was my first one in the dark.
Until now, I've pretty much been pootling around on back streets in places like keynsham and weston, sticking in 1st or 2nd gear. I've been on a semi busy road (a b road I guess) a couple of times two lessons back, but not much more than that.
Today, we went up to odd down way. started off pootling around there - and then we went up to where I used to stay in odd down - visited an old haunt and also turned round in a fairly difficult place to turn round. (jack said he thought it was a bit too advanced but there were no problems - just had to drive down a fairly narrow walled area)
Then we went back down again, and ended up going down wells way (an A road. We went to the end of this and then turned left along the A4 (lower bristol road) Went through my first traffic lights, my first roundabout, got up to about 50 miles an hour, and went into 5th gear. First time going onto roads which have lanes for which way you want to turn, first time on a dual carrageway. We went all the way to keynsham and back again. I also went across a bridge and speed bumps for the first time.
So yeah - I'm enjoying driving far more than I thought I would :)
