Giving NaNo another shot.

Yeah, so, I'm doing National Novel Writing Month again this year. I'd said I wasn't going to do it, because I've so much left to do getting Fearless to a state of finished acceptance where I can start the real editing. But, a bunch of friendly folks over at WordPress have decided to take the plunge, and I've had an idea kicking about for a while now I wanted to try, so I figured, why not?

This year's is a science fiction story, though it's very light on the science and heavier on the society aspect. You can read the original blurb at my NaNo page for "Anywhere but Here", though that is a very simple jumping-off point. There are already ten characters I'm working with...and lots of action to come.

My target this year is to write about a 2000-word chapter per day. For 25-30 chapters, that should put me over the quota mark before the end of the month. I've already got a fairly fleshed-out outline for the first sixteen chapters, and I'm guessing there will be closer to twenty-five. (Yes, I'm writing an outline. And I want to finish that before I start the actual writing. But I'm hoping I can do that in the next few days.)

If anyone else is out there participating, let me know, and we can buddy up!
