No more Sundays

Jun 18, 2006 09:19

Only 3 hours and 40 minutes until the end of my very last Sunday shift until the fall. I'm pretty stoked about that, because it means that I won't have to get up early to go to work when all I want to do is roll over and go back to sleep.

It's only 9:20 and it's already hot, and it's only going to get hotter, which means that the lobby is only going to get hotter, as well. I think I can last until 1, but then Chris will come in and probably turn the A/C on, so he doesn't have to cook like a roast until we close at 5. I'd do that but I'm not 100% sure on how to turn the A/C on. All I know is that it involves a key, a plastic box, and possibly fidling with the A/C thermostat thingy. Too complicated for me.

I guess that I should go work on my English paper now. The more I work on finding information for my topic, the more I realize that I'm totally screwed because there is no way that I can write 4 pages of stuff about geographical similarities between the Midwest and West Egg, and the East and East Egg, without repeating myself about a thousand times. That's why it's so much nicer writing history papers; they may be twice or three times as long, but you know that the teacher isn't going to read them carefully enough to realize that what you said on page two was the exact same thing you wrote on pages four, five, seven, and ten. Oh well, I guess I have to figure something out.

Paige, the guy with the Scottish accent just came through and talked to me for a minute about The Great Gatsby. Accents are so, so awesome.
