homemade jambalaya

I made some amazing jambalaya last night! It was pretty easy:

Ingredients:
White rice
Andoullie sausage
Pre-cooked chicken strips
Frozen veggies
Onion
Chicken stock
Olive oil
Cajun seasoning
Brown sugar
Cornstarch
Water

Directions:
  1. Get the white rice cooking, however you prefer to do it.
  2. Mince the onion, chop the chicken strips into small pieces, and slice the sausage thinly
  3. Put veggies and onion in a pan with some olive oil and cook until the onions are tender (about 5 minutes)
  4. Add the sausage, chicken, chicken stock, cajun seasoning, a bit of brown sugar
  5. Stir the mixture well, and then cover and let simmer for 15 minutes
  6. Mix some cornstarch with water to make a thin solution
  7. Add the cornstarch stuff to the stuff that's cooking, and mix it in well
  8. Let it simmer for 5 more minutes, then turn off
  9. When the rice is done cooking, mix everything together in one pot
  10. Taste, season as you'd like (perhaps with a little cayenne), and enjoy!
I'm not sure of the exact measurements, but if you are planning to try this recipe and want some help, I'll be glad to measure stuff out and give you that info.
