Gerry kidnapped me to an adventuresome lunch at Nona Sushi today. I had a bento box with a tofu dish that was way too salty, and our server was slow when it came time for the check. I don't think we'll be going back, but neither do I think that it was it money wasted.
As a "calm before the storm" that my bosses dumped on me in the form of many special projects, I got to spend about 20 minutes with my friend Karin later in the day. That was a highlight! She helped to put my mind at ease regarding some of the confusing policies surrounding my upcoming trip to Guinea. Apparently they are going to remain confusing, but it will work out in the end. And that calms me. How I appreciate that woman; too bad that we're so sporadic in our friendship.
Writing about Karin was the point of this whole post. However, now I have pictures to share...
At the end of the day, Gerry and I picked up my dad and whisked ourselves out to Epcot for the yearly Candlelight Processional, along with fireworks, fish and chips, and some other fun and relaxing activities. It was a nice ... albeit cold! ... evening; what a privilege to live here and to get to enjoy such beautiful things from time to time. Dad seemed really happy!
This is the view from where we waited for the fireworks. Check out the moon setting behind the Eiffel Tower!
Our seats were in the absolute back of the theater; they were benches behind the last row, actually! Guess that makes up for last year's front-and-center VIP seats, huh? We still were able to spot this show's fainter from our seats, however. The narrator is Neil Patrick Harris, which excited Gerry.
Sitting in the back, we spotted ghostly choir members waiting to march to the stage.
Gerry took us to his old work area, The Living Seas. This conch was hopping around like a mad shell!
Also in The Living Seas, Gerry pointed out one of Disney's hidden Mickeys ... inside the gigantic aquarium.
Spaceship Earth has teched up its ride. Here's a screen shot of me on a bike that the ride generated.
This is a shot of my dad and me in our treehouse.
My favorite lighted puff-balls appeared for their second year! I love these things.
Dad is staring up at the dancing musical light tunnel. A pretty cool thing, it is.
Aaaaaaaand, fireworks! If I had
chippa's mad skills, I'd figure out how to stitch all of these explosive photos together so that it would actually look like a moving fireworks show to you. (But I don't know how to do that, and my plate is swamped this month.) Cool colors!
