A few things that have delighted me recently:

The hot tea self-service at th Ritz-Carlton. The tea is the chunky type, in little silk bags. Individual bottles of honey can be had, as well as a variety of sugar cubes, and lemon halves wrapped in bright yellow cheesecloth and tied off with a ribbon.

www.fontspace.com. In particular, I love the Oregon LDO family of fonts that I got this morning from the site!

www.texturez.com. The folks at urban-decay would probably enjoy these pictures. There's all the peeling paint, rust, dirt, and organic matter that you could want in this collection!

The smell of magnolias. Lita, the other woman in my department, brought me a big bloom floating in a bowl yesterday. Today, it's perfuming the whole north wing of the building. Beautiful!

Sailing. The guys from the office are taking me out on a lake tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait!

My brother's pictures from Iraq. This is not simply because he has a great eye for photography and because I think that deserts are beautiful; it's also because of his funny stories and comical captioning of the pictures! Stories like this: So the other day, we were on patrol down in the palm groves taking a security halt, when this guy and his wife come down the trail herding some sheep... so, a couple of sheep wandered off and were eating grass, but being sheep, they always run to catch up with the herd... anyways, so Morgan, our SAW gunner, is in the rear, and as the shepherds passed, he started freaking out. So I was like, "what's up man?" And he was like, "I don't know what to do if one of these sheep come at me. I'm from Jersey, I've never dealt with wild animals." I end up laughing all night when his latest batch of photos arrives in the mail.

lists, thanksgiving, funny
