enjoying christmas

Although Christmas day wasn't a terribly big deal to me, I have really enjoyed the weeks leading up to it. Contributing to that feeling are that I did all of my gift-getting in November, avoided stores like the plague in December, did most of my big work projects in November, have been reading Christmas passages and prophecy passages during my Bible time, have been listening to Gospel-specific music in the car, and have been particularly sensitive to prayer these past several weeks. Most excellent, and I hope to repeat the experience. It was really a treat.

Titus is back in town, that's pretty cool! He has been reminding me that I have a bit too much confidence in his ability to do absolutely anything -- on the schedules I have him working in all sorts of new locations just because I think he's smart enough to learn anything. Instantly. Whoops.

I am enjoying my "little" role in the Holy Land's grand finale Christmas show, as an angel and then as a capebearer for one of the magi. Yesterday, as I dropped to the ground on stage before the toddler Jesus, God gave me an amazing revelation -- that, as I kneel before this small King of Kings, I am demonstrating to all who are watching what it is to worship. Wow! Suddenly it's not such a small role.

Yesterday, in the angel role and as the fog was billowing around, I accidentally latched hands with the angel Gabriel on stage. What?! I couldn't see him at all, the fog was so thick!

You should see Amy (the virgin Mary) and Dan (the angel Gabriel) and their antics backstage! She is a little thing at only 4'9" and he's a giant at 6'6" or so. It's not uncommon to see him walking around with her perched on his shoulder just like a bird -- in fact, I'm almost getting used to seeing it. If it wasn't a bizarre enough thing already, consider that she has a fake 9-months pregnant stomach! Umm....
