Everyone, I'm back from my hiatus and back at home after my year abroad. I have the summer off now which means more time for fandom and maybe more writing, depending on whether I start getting ideas again or not. I thought I should do a meme in this post to have something to talk about. I chose to steal a writing meme from
rubyls in the hopes that it

first thing i'm most curious about is, could you recommend me your favorite super junior fics? the pairing doesn't really matter as long as it involves kyuhyun.
i recently started writing fic myself and i was wanting to know, do you re-read your fiction? i honestly have trouble going over a fic i've written after a few days because i just think it's terrible lol. i don't know, it's hard to explain. what you said about keeping the music on/off, i feel the same. i can't have music playing when i'm writing because it ends up affecting the mood i originally intended to create. so much about writing comes off difficult to me, i never realised just how hard it was until i started myself. i really have an admiration for your grammar skills; not just that but the flow of your stories are never rushed, and the interaction between the characters always come off as enjoyable and fun (reading hae struggle with his feelings in elephant was one of my favorite parts).
A really, really good mutli-chaptered Kyuhae fic. And an action fic, actually, because I've never done that and I'd like to see if I can do it or not.
i hope you end up writing these! have you thought of writing supernatural fics?
i feel like there was more i wanted to ask but i cant remember now. sorry if any of this sounds too fangirly lol.

I'll try! I'm insanely disorganized with fic bookmarks and/or memories so I'll do my best. I'll either make it a public journal post or I'll post another answer to this comment, depending on how successful I am with remembering fics and organizing stuff in my head. ^^'
Oh, you started writing?! That's wonderful, there can never be enough fanfic writers out there. :) I do reread my fic, in part because I don't have a beta reader and that's one way of getting rid of most of my grammar and/or spelling mistakes, and also because it gives me a chance to smooth over bad transitions or work out jumbled up parts where I lost patience and wrote whatever dialogue. >.< While going over the fic again is useful, I understand why you have trouble with it - I'm not much a fan of it either since it seems to glaringly highlight everything that's not perfect with it. The good news is - you could theoretically go ahead and fix it, wait another few days, go over it again, fix stuff again, or you can just say you'll post it anyways and then try to do better with the next thing you're writing. ;) I'm mostly so relieved I finally got the story done that I fix things only once and then upload. Although I admit I do quite a bit of rereading and editing while still in the actual writing process. Whenever I get really stuck I usually have to go back and find a different approach to wherever I want to go in the end, so I edit.
Okay, that was a lot of rambling. All of this means that I find writing incredibly hard as well, but I guess that's what gives you a really good feeling about actually producing something half-nice in the end. :) Even though it's hard, don't give up, it's so much fun! If you really have trouble with something, most experienced writers will probably be able and willing to give you pointers. And writing really kind of is trial and error - you grow through making mistakes. And you never really stop learning. :) Thank you so much for saying all these wonderful things; I'm still struggling with getting comfortable with the way I write, so this is really a motivational thing to hear!
I hope so, too... I have thought about that, but right now, I mostly try to challenge myself to write good bandfic (because I'm always looking for it but there seems to be so little of it). Of course, I often end up giving up and moving to AUs instead, but yeah. I leave the supernatural stuff to wineandpencils who does a better job of it than I ever could. She's already thinking of the next supernatural fic to come. ♥
Aw, no bb, you can always ask me things. :) I love interacting with people in fandom, I don't get to do it enough.

So. I decided to make my next journal post about something different, which is why you get your recs here. :) I really enjoyed revisiting some of the stuff I read ages ago. Also, I realized that when I enjoy one author's story, I usually go ahead and see what else they've written, sometimes regardless of pairings, so I hope it's okay for you if I rec you to authors whose fics I've enjoyed immensely and don't point to select fics.
Let's start with Kyuhae (although finding the good stuff is easy because of the Kyuhae fic comm. The authorities for this pairing are elliebear128, hyungdeul and skipturnstep/naransaram. Especially the latter's creep right under your skin. I also bet you know wineandpencils's Howl, which is one of the best supernatural fics I know.
I'm not very much into QMi, but I know that these authors are absolutely wonderful, so take a look if you're interested: cascades, skipturnstep/naransaram, coley_merrin.
The fandom godesses you should take a look at even though Kyuhyun is often not their main focus: thundersquall, catskilt (she is amazing, and meiface (I worship and admire her to no end, in so many ways).
I would go to subtleslide for any Kyu fic, I think she also wrote some really nice Kyumin if I remember right, I adore her writing so much, she's one of my absolutely favorite Kyu writers! I haven't really read many other Kyu pairings, but I know that rubyls wrote some of the only Kyuhyun/Jino I know of and wineandpencils wrote me a Kyusung oneshot that I should mention because it's great. I know that there is a Kyuhyuk fic community but it's not a very popular pairing and it's kind of hard to find exceptional fic. Your best bet might be miracle's SuJu 100 Challenge.
I... think that's it? I feel kind of bad because I didn't point you to certain fics, but with the authors I mentioned above I wouldn't be able to decide. All of their stuff is just amazing and I read it almost all and would do it again in a heartbeat.
If all this really is a little too unspecific, tell me and I'll get back to you when I went through their archives and picked out my favorites. :)
