"I just flushed a demon. What did you do today?"

The more I sit inside this office the more I detest working here. Not because I dislike my co-workers, nor do I dislike the law (in general), but I do have a deep dislike for some of the practices of those involved in personal injury lawsuits (on all sides). I just feel like I'm not doing anything for the greater good working here. I'm just working in a place that understands that accidents happen, and people like to sue, and that can make you money. I feel horrible for the secretary, whose job is really that of a paralegal. She's barely been here longer than I have and she asks me questions, as if I have any clue what I'm really doing, other than being a really cheap errand monkey (type this, mail that, file this, request these, attend this, call them, schedule this, report back to me).
During the school year I dreaded leaving school and having to go work at Eddie Bauer. These days, a full day on my feet talking to real people who aren't trying to weasle more money out of people is a welcome break.

Late night Weather people are really weird.
The wedding this weekend was terrific! My plane was delayed, but I was definitely excited to see Zach at 12:30am, then we rented a car! and drove to St. Louis. The moon was out in full force and so beautiful, we spent more time paying attention to it than anything else. I miss hanging out with that guy. Finally arriving at our hotel at 5:30 we were ecstatic when we realized it was only 4:30 there and we'd actually be getting almost 4 hours of sleep before we had to start getting ready for the 10 am wedding as opposed to the 3 we'd resigned ourselves to. There was a total Wedding Crasher at the party, too, hilarious! He'd met one of the bridesmaids at a wedding the week before and had managed to be her date for this wedding. He even looked like Owen Wilson, with all the smoothness, but none of the moves.
Greencastle proved to be a terrific time, as always. I was attacked by new friends who quickly found out how to exploit my one HUGE weakness. Tackled to the floor, run into a doorknob, and nearly in tears more than once...it was a great time. Off to the rock house for some crappy music, but more good times with friends. And Sunday's lunch spawned one of the best quotes ever, learned about the moon from National Geographic TV, then flew back to Boston.
I definitely have to move back to the midwest, or move all of my friends out to New England. I don't have enough money to fly home and see them all as much as I really want/need to.
Amanda bought me one of THE best birthday presents ever -- it finally arrived. A parking sign, with a dancing Leprachaun "Leprachaun Parking Only -- All other will be out of luck"...wicked sweet.
Oliver is still my favorite toy ever. And who could not fall in love with Zach laying on the floor pretending to be another cat mirroring Oliver's every move (short of licking himself, of course). Oh good times. Good times had by all.
And now that my day long post is successfully complete. I'm off.
