Pumpkin Fun

As most of you have probably already seen in vorpal's journal, we carved up some pumpkins yesterday. Not that we had a party or opened our doors to trick-or-treaters, but at least it got some creative energy going. (We didn't make it to any parties since we were both feeling a bit off - blech.)

Here's the lineup of our three pumpkins! The one on the left is mine, and the spiffy Japanese-themed pumpkins are the creative genius of vorpal.

Seb's mad carving skillz were out in full force with his quick and agile carving of these Japanese Kanji symbols. They both have three different Kanji symbols.

I was especially impressed with Seb's idea for this one, as the mouth is made with the Kanji symbol for mouth, and so forth with the eyes and ears!

I haven't carved in years, which is probably why it took me so many hours to complete this one!

The above two pumpkins were never anywhere near our house, but both were carved by my favourite astronomy blogger over at BadAstronomy.com. The first one is aptly themed for our household, and the second is a nod to my new favourite binge TV program!
