Saturday
We spent the late morning walking along the boardwalk. It costs a lot to live there, but it’s noisy and crowded, and I think it would not be worth the money.
On the other hand, there are homes built along the Venice canals that still have a lot of quiet charm.
This picture is for Fiver.
The weather is absolutely perfect there, and if I could afford it, and it wasn’t so far away, I would move in a second!
Later, we walked to a bistro, where we imagined the manager rolling his eyes at us when his back was turned, as he had to “translate” the names of the fancy dishes and desserts so we had some remote idea what they were. He would have been mortified to know that our conversation devolved even further until we were talking about Campbell’s tomato soup and other simple comfort foods.
The guys have learned that there are many good movies I have never seen, so we ended the evening watching the first “Hunger Games” movie.
In light of the fact that my mother is a huge fan of these movies, I was surprised she felt that the second Hobbit movie was too violent. o_O
